Modal Dialog
index.html
and script.js
have already been provided in the VM. In general, you only need to add code to script.js
and style.css
.
This code renders a Modal component that can be controlled through events. To use the component, you can import Modal
once and then display it by passing a boolean value to the isVisible
attribute.
The Modal component has the following features:
- It defines a
keydownHandler
function that handles all keyboard events and calls onClose
when the Esc
key is pressed.
- It uses the
useEffect()
hook to add or remove the keydown
event listener to the Document
, calling keydownHandler
for every event.
- It adds a styled
<span>
element that acts as a close button, calling onClose
when clicked.
- It uses the
isVisible
prop passed down from the parent to determine if the modal should be displayed or not.
- It includes a CSS file that styles the Modal component.
const Modal = ({ isVisible = false, title, content, footer, onClose }) => {
const keydownHandler = ({ key }) => {
switch (key) {
case "Escape":
onClose();
break;
default:
}
};
React.useEffect(() => {
document.addEventListener("keydown", keydownHandler);
return () => document.removeEventListener("keydown", keydownHandler);
});
return !isVisible ? null : (
