Testing an Invoice API for Cross-Account Access is a practical course for beginners who want to understand how a signed-in customer can receive another customer's private data. You will test a prepared shop using synthetic invoices and a real session-based API.
One Guided Lab establishes normal access, compares explicit sharing with private access, and saves a real response. One independent Challenge changes the customer and sharing relationships so you must choose the relevant invoice yourself.
What You Will Learn
- Sign in and send a customer session with HTTP requests.
- Read invoice ownership and sharing fields before judging access.
- Distinguish authentication failures, legitimate sharing, and missing object authorization.
- Save an actual private invoice and connect it to the customer who received it.
Who This Course Is For
This course is for new security learners and developers curious about API access control. You should be comfortable entering a terminal command and switching tabs. No programming or prior web-testing knowledge is required.
LabEx provides an isolated Client Terminal and Invoice Desk portal for each unit. All data is synthetic; only the supplied accounts and objects are in scope.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install a proxy or configure a server?
No. The environment is prepared. You use the browser and curl, with each new command option explained in the Guided Lab.
Will I repair the application?
The endpoint is authorized access validation: obtain the designated invoice and understand why the server should enforce ownership or sharing. Server repair is outside this course.
How is completion checked?
Checks compare the saved invoice bytes with the designated record and its real server-side customer download. A report or screenshot is not required.
