In the LabEx WebIDE (which is based on VS Code), saving your file is very simple! You have a few options:

1. Using Keyboard Shortcuts (Fastest)

  • Linux/Windows: Press Ctrl + S
  • macOS: Press Cmd + S
  1. Look at the top left corner of the WebIDE.
  2. Click on the "File" menu.
  3. Select "Save" from the dropdown list.

3. Auto Save

The WebIDE usually has "Auto Save" enabled by default. You can tell if a file has unsaved changes if you see a white dot on the file tab at the top. Once the file is saved (manually or automatically), that dot will turn into an "X".

Pro Tip: Since you are in a LabEx environment, your progress is tracked. Once you see the white dot disappear, you can safely click the "Check" or "Continue" button in the lab instructions to move to the next step
