How the Omarchy Linux Playground Works

Omarchy combines Arch Linux with the Hyprland tiling desktop and a terminal-focused workflow. Try basic file commands here without installing anything. This preview simulates commands locally; it does not boot Omarchy or run Foot.

Is this a real Omarchy system?

This page is a browser simulation with a virtual filesystem and a limited command set. A full Omarchy operating system is coming soon; no release date has been announced.

Where does Linux Desktop take me?

It opens LabEx’s Your First Linux Lab. Sign in to use a real Linux desktop and follow the guided exercises. This is a standard Linux lab, not an Omarchy desktop.

Which terminal does Omarchy use?

Omarchy uses Foot by default. This preview borrows its terminal styling; it does not run the Foot application, Hyprland windows, or Tmux panes.

Can I install packages here?

No real packages are installed in this simulation. Use pwd, ls, cd, mkdir, touch, cat, echo, clear and help to practice. Fastfetch displays sample system information.
