RHCE in Ansible Practice Exam 02 is a second, self-contained assessment of Linux automation with Ansible. Its 14 independent challenges use scenarios different from Practice Exam 01 to test project repair, configuration precedence, inventories, reliable playbook control flow, templates, Vault, roles, collections, and integrated RHEL administration. The recommended duration is 240 minutes, with a 100-point integrated model and a simulated LabEx passing threshold of 70 points.
You work from operational requests and acceptance criteria in fresh RHEL 10 environments. Each task requires valid automation artifacts and a proven managed state; checks cover execution context, SSH and become connectivity, service and firewall behavior, encrypted data, generated reports, and clean repeat runs where idempotence is required.
What You Will Learn
- Repair an Ansible repository layout and diagnose which
ansible.cfgcontrols project execution - Configure
ansible-navigatorfor a staged local runtime and model dev, test, and production groups in inventory - Restore SSH-managed node access and verify both normal Ansible connectivity and privilege escalation
- Coordinate multiple services with handlers and use
block, rescue, and registered evidence for recoverable failures - Build fact-driven conditional firewalld rules and render application configuration from host-specific variables
- Rotate Vault-encrypted credentials and publish custom facts while correcting variable overrides
- Refactor a monolithic playbook into roles, use offline collection modules, and automate repository, user, web, firewall, and timer compliance
Who This Course Is For
This course is for Linux administrators, automation engineers, and RHCE candidates seeking another complete exam-style set or a stricter test of Ansible troubleshooting and design. It assumes you can already author ordinary playbooks and administer common RHEL services.
Prerequisites: RHCSA-level Linux administration and working knowledge of YAML, inventories, playbooks, modules, variables, facts, handlers, SSH, and privilege escalation. Familiarity with Ansible Vault, roles, collections, Git, Jinja2, systemd, and firewalld is recommended.
Learning environment: Fourteen isolated browser-accessible RHEL 10 environments with locally prepared Ansible projects and managed-target behavior. Repositories, inventories, SSH material, services, scripts, Vault files, collection archives, and offline documentation are supplied locally; no Red Hat subscription or external Galaxy access is required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Practice Exam 02 a continuation of Practice Exam 01?
No. It is an independent full practice form with different scenarios and a higher proportion of Advanced challenges. You can take either course first, and no project or managed-node state is shared.
Is this an official RHCE exam?
No. It is an independent LabEx practice resource. The 240-minute recommendation, 100-point model, and 70-point threshold are simulated and do not produce an official Red Hat certification result.
Does failure recovery mean errors can simply be ignored?
No. The recovery task requires Ansible modules, explicit block and rescue flow, registered evidence, correct fallback files, and a clean idempotent second run. Suppressing errors without producing the requested state will not satisfy validation.
Do the tasks require external managed servers or online content?
No. SSH targets, packages, services, collection archives, and module documentation are prepared inside each training environment. You still exercise real Ansible execution and managed state without depending on external infrastructure.
