Using the tag

The tag in HTML is used to indicate text that is of great importance compared to the other text on a webpage. The tag is similar to the tag, which is used to bold text for visual emphasis. However, the tag indicates importance to the browser and search engines, while the tag only adds style to the text.

To add strong text in HTML, follow these steps:

 1. Open the index.html file in your text editor.
 2. Identify the text that needs to be marked as strong.
 3. Wrap the text with the tag as follows:
This text is important.
 1. Save your changes.

Nesting tags

The tag can also be nested within other HTML tags to create different levels of importance for text. For example, you could use the tag to indicate important paragraphs within an article. To nest tags, simply place the inner tag between the opening and closing tags of the outer tag.

 This is a regular paragraph.
 This paragraph is important.
 This is another regular paragraph.

Using CSS to style text

You can also use CSS to style text. To change the font weight of text, you can add the following CSS rule to your stylesheet:

This will make all text appear bold.
