# Introduction In this lab, you will learn about the NumPy `startswith()` function. The `startswith()` function in the char module of the NumPy library returns a boolean array with values that can be either True or False. This function returns True if the given string starts with the specified prefix value in the function. It returns False if it does not start with the specified prefix. ## VM Tips After the VM startup is done, click the top left corner to switch to the **Notebook** tab to access Jupyter Notebook for practice. Sometimes, you may need to wait a few seconds for Jupyter Notebook to finish loading. The validation of operations cannot be automated because of limitations in Jupyter Notebook.
