How do DHCP and static IP assignment differ?
DHCP obtains an address automatically from a server, while a static address is configured manually and remains consistent.
Both methods always obtain a new address automatically at startup.
DHCP can be used only by servers, while static addresses can be used only by clients.
Static addressing configures only DNS and never an interface address.
